Montauk Fishing Report (October 18, 2005)

I had intended for last weeks report to be the last for a couple of weeks, but I forgot about the bass tournament that Freddies Tackle held this past weekend. Throughout the week the, the surf guys were going gangbusters, but when it came time for the contest to get away, things slowed down considerably. But there were still enough fish around to make for a good tournament. The results are as follows;
1st place - John Bruno - 32.48 lbs
2nd place - Vic Triolo - 24.64 lbs
3rd place - Frank Mercurio - 18.80 lbs.

The charter boats do quite so well, with most being blown out for the entire week. A couple were able to sneak in a half day here and there, and they all caught fish, but they had to have a pretty nautical crew.

I won’t be as regular in sending out these reports for the rest of the season, since I’ll be getting busier with booking the winter trips down in Latin America, so if you’re thinking of going somewhere warm to fish this winter, give me a call. I’ve got a lot of great options for you in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. Lots of fish and no snow!

If you would like to have these reports sent to you directly, just drop me a note at CaptGene@MontaukSportfishing.com. And for more information about fishing in Montauk, you can give me a call at 800 377 1197 or check out Montauk Sportfishing
