Montauk striped bass fishing is hotter than ever. We fish for
bass in a variety of ways, depending on wind/tide, time of day,
water temps, abundance of bait, type of bait fish, etc.
The preferred method of fishing for stripers in Montauk is
trolling with jigs, long tubes or umbrella rigs. Each of these
lures is customized to work best for the style most charter
boats use in Montauk.
While trolling is the most productive, we also fish for stripers
while chunking, diamond jigging, with bucktails and other light
tackle methods. However, based on the construction of our boat
type, we do not do fly fishing. If that is your interest, we
can put you in touch with the right captain. Let us know.
The Montauk Friends of Erin hold a great fishing tournament
towards the end of the summer. Each boat fishes for 4 types
of fish: Fluke, Striped
Bass, Seabass and Bluefish. The fish are given different
points per pound. It's a great tournament and well worth entering.
We do charter for this event.
